Hospital Staff Failed To Use Sterile Alcohol

The staff failed to use sterile alcohol even though a Lompoc hospital policy required sterile alcohol for cleaning areas in the hospital pharmacy. Dangerous pathogens in pharmacy were discovered by Lompoc hospital staff on June 28 and December 21, 2016. The airborne pathogens were found in the work area where intravenous (IV) medications are mixed.
