Three New Board Members for the Lompoc Valley Medical Center
Lompoc voters said enough is enough!
In a terrific step forward using a broom, Lompoc voters elected new Board members for the Lompoc Valley Medical Center. Voters chose challengers to replace Board members Mary Sharp and Roger McConnell, who were, in part, responsible for the Champion Center financial disaster.
Voters thought it was time for a real change. Voters also replaced Sharon Martinez, who had been recently appointed but was part of the old guard.
With a strong local following, Dr. Christopher Lumsdaine, received 5,087 votes or 24.9 percent.
Leslie M. Kelly garnered 4,315 votes or 21.1 percent and Elham “Ellie” Novin-Baheran received 3,291 votes or 16.1 percent.
These three new Board members can make a significant difference. They are medical practitioners who can bring real hospital expertise to the Board.
Congratulations to the new Board members!
